Rajasthan Royals encountered their first win over the consistently poor performing, not so royal, the Royal Challengers Bangalore and might be in full confidence to face the battle against Kolkata Knight Riders. Royals will be hosting the match this time at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, on this coming Sunday, 8.00pm.
The tomorrow fantasy IPL 2019 match is very crucial for the Royals, in spite of having the home advantage, it is very important for the squad to unfollow the chain of losing after the opening match success. Kolkata Knight Riders on the other hand, have been on a clear image of stability by managing to win at least more matches than the RR.
Looking on to the records, RR has won only one of the four fixtures in VIVO IPL 2019 so far, whereas KKR squad has won three out of their four matches in the season (with one loss because of the super over succeeded by the Delhi Capitals).
Rajasthan Royal’s batting has turned out to be well in IPL 2019 so far. Jos Buttler has been in good hitting form accompanied by Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, and Rahul Tripathi who have also played some good innings in the tournament. In the bowling department, with Andre Russell in the opposition, Royals cannot afford to bowl loosely in the death overs. With Russell in the side, the extravagant all rounder in IPL so far, KKR has a strong firm belief that they can win the match from any position. Nitish Rana has been brilliant for KKR. The Royals may predict and want more from Ajinkya Rahane and Steve Smith.
RR and KKR have played 19 matches of IPL head to head altogether out of which both have shared equal victories in their halves (9 each) and 1 match was left with no result announced!
KKR’s spinners also did a commendable job of pulling things back against RCB. Just like Rajasthan Royals, fast bowling is KKR’s biggest weakness too. Lockie Ferguson has been ineffective so far and KKR might bring Harry Gurney in the playing XI.
Ajinkya Rahane (c), Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Ben Stokes, Steven Smith, Rahul Tripathi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni
Dinesh Karthik (c), Piyush Chawla, Robin Uthappa, Andre Russell, Chris Lynn, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Rana, Sunil Narine, Prasidh Krishna, Lockie Ferguson, Shubman Gill
Even though KKR is much higher than Rajasthan Royals in each department, the Royals still have chances at their home ground. The hosts will know that if they can somehow manage to get rid of Andre Russell early, they have a great chance to win the game. Also, KKR’s over-dependence on Andre Russell might prove costly for them at some point in time.
