We just cracked under pressure, admits RCB captain after losing to KKR

Let’s have a look what the captain has to say about the consistent failure facing team, the ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE.

“There is no guessing there (about where RCB lost), the last 4 four overs (in the previous match) the way we bowled was just unacceptable. We needed to be cleverer, nothing came off and we just cracked under pressure. If we bowl like that and don’t show composure in pressure moments, we deserve to be where we are in the table. No rocket science behind it. If we bowl with not enough bravery in the crunch moments then it’s always going to be difficult when you have power-hitters like Russell in the opposition, we needed to be cleverer in the last four overs. One-dimensional in the end and nothing came off and we cracked under pressure. That’s been our story this season so far for us. If you can’t defend 75 in the last four overs, then I don’t know if you can defend 100. We can have a bit of chat about what went wrong, apart from that nothing much you can say. I don’t think talking enough helps all the time.” said Virat Kohli in the post-5th RCB match presentation ceremony.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s performance has been really disappointing in VIVO IPL 2019 season so far. Virat Kohli, being the captain of the team, felt no short of words, while admitting the below average performance of the bowlers in the previous match @M.Chinnaswamy Stadium yesterday. The visitors scored 66 runs out of the last 24 balls to snatch an improbable victory.

Following the loss, RCB’s fifth consecutive this season, Virat Kohli said the bowling in the last four overs was “unacceptable”.

Virat Kohli scored a fine 84 runs off 49 balls but the RCB skipper lamented getting out with 17 balls still remaining in his team’s innings suffered their fifth straight loss in the Indian Premier League.

Earlier defeats were as follows:

  1. CSKvsRCB dated 23.3.19 (lost by 7 wickets).
  2. MIvsRCB dated 28.3.19 (lost by 6 runs).
  3. SRHvsRCB dated 31.3.19 (lost by 118 runs).
  4. RRvsRCB dated 2.4.19 (lost by 7 wickets).
  5. KKRvsRCB dated 5.4.19 (lost by 5 wickets).

According to the fantasy cricket lover’s point of view, the captain is in the wrong squad this season. They, now wish to see Kohli into some other batch so that his skills can be clearly seen on the pitch.

Unfortunate, but we can just hope that Kohli gets at least some positivity build up in him for the upcoming match and he gets a good result from the RCB squad.

It would be unfair to expect only Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to score for the team; it is high time that all the departments of RCB now make things “ACCEPTABLE” for the captain.
